Former soldier and accountant turned witch, my own journey through menopause completely changed the direction of my life.

Now I write and work intuitively with women in menopause who are tired of doing it all and don’t know who they are anymore.

Because sometimes menopause isn’t asking you to find your way back to who you were. It’s asking you to discover who you’re becoming.

Living The Seasons After Menopause

The four seasons have always guided us through the year, as nature turns this way… blossoming in Spring as shoots push through the soil, thriving in Summer when warmth and light nourishes growth, harvesting in Autumn when the fruits of effort are gathered, then resting in Winter when the world slows down.

Yet we can’t live our lives waiting for Spring to arrive before we start to emerge from the cocoon of our Winter.  So how can we lean into the seasons to support our lives, especially when the rhythms of our bodies no longer mark time?

Women have always held their own cyclical micro-seasons from menarche through to menopause.

Each month those who bleed cycle through four phases, each calling for something different from us:

Menstrual (our Winter) – the days when we bleed are asking for stillness, rest, and letting go.  Low energy, introspection, and withdrawal are all invitations to turn inward, to honour quiet reflection, and to restore ourselves.

Follicular (our Spring) – as estrogen rises, energy and curiosity stir.  This is the time for planning, exploring, and planting seeds – in life, in creativity, or in intention.

Ovulatory (our Summer) – our hormones peak, inviting connection, expression, and confidence.  Energy radiates outward, calling us to shine, to speak our truths, and to be seen.

Luteal (our Autumn) – before our bleed, reflection deepens.  Mood shifts, caution, and introspection become natural.  This is the time to gather wisdom, review what has grown, and prepare for the stillness ahead.

By listening to what our bodies are calling for, we can support ourselves in ways society rarely teaches.  We live in a culture that prizes doing, striving, and achieving – masculine energies – yet women flourish when they align with the rhythms of their cycles.

But what happens when the monthly bleed ends at menopause?  How do we know when to rest and when to shine, when the internal signals we once followed are no longer present?

Without the monthly bleed, we become the keepers of our own seasons, calling forth our Winter when we need restoration, our Spring when we wish to grow, our Summer when we want to shine, and our Autumn when we gather wisdom.

Calling forth each season without hormonal cues requires tuning into our own energy, intuition, and needs.  Winter arrives when we feel the pull to rest, retreat, or reflect – when our body and mind crave stillness.  Spring rises when curiosity stirs, ideas spark, or the urge to begin something new calls to us.  Summer emerges when our energy peaks, when connection, creativity, or action feels natural and joyful.  Autumn steps in when it’s time to pause, harvest the fruits of our efforts, and integrate lessons before the next Winter.

These seasons are no longer dictated by the calendar or our bodies alone.  They become intentional, magical rhythms, ones we can choose and honour.  By observing our moods, our energy, and the subtle currents of our inner lives, we step fully into each season, creating a personal map for growth, expression, reflection, and rest.  And in doing so, we reclaim the magic of kairos timing – recognising the right moment for action, creation, or pause – and carry Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter within us wherever we are.

So even without a monthly bleed, you can consciously invite the qualities of each season:

Winter – Rest and Reflection

• Notice when your energy dips or you crave quiet.

• Give yourself permission to slow, rest, or say no.

• Create a sanctuary: light candles, journal, meditate, or simply sit with a cup of tea.

Spring – Growth and Curiosity

• Tune into sparks of interest, ideas, or new beginnings.

• Take small steps toward planting projects — creative, spiritual, or personal.

• Honour curiosity: sow literal seeds in the earth or symbolic seeds in your intentions.

Summer – Expression and Connection

• Recognise when your energy is high and your confidence rises.

• Step into visibility: share your ideas, connect, or express creativity.

• Let enthusiasm guide you, without overexertion.

Autumn – Harvest and Wisdom

• Notice when reflection or caution arises.

• Gather lessons learned, assess patterns, and integrate experiences.

• Mark the season with ritual, journaling, storytelling, or offering gratitude.

By choosing your seasons consciously, you create a rhythm that honours your body, intuition, and magic.  Every day holds the potential for Winter, Spring, Summer, or Autumn, and you become the keeper of your own seasonal wisdom.

With love 💫
